Parenting after 35

Warning: SAD -hold your babies tight tonight (and WHY do I read this stuff?!)

Saw in the paper today that a "father" who went on a rampage and killed his mother in law, also KILLED his 14 month old daughter.  What kind of animal could do that to his OWN child??  I'm in tears writing this. It breaks my heart thinking about the poor mother of that little baby, who not only lost her baby, but her own mother as well.  Hold your sweet ones tight tonight and thank whoever or whatever you believe in that you're not in her shoes.  I know I will.  Sorry for bringing everyone else down :(

Edited to bring warning to the front of the post title.

  • I try not to watch the news anymore. My husband says I'm being an escapist but who cares. There's only bad news on TV so I don't care to watch. I know it doesn't make bad things go away but I get so upset when I read/watch news like this one. It's heartbreaking. It's inconceivable to me that a human being could kill an innocent child. Even animals don't do that to their own offspring.

  • It seems every single day there's some horrific crime against an innocent child in this country.   What the FJDSFJSDLKJF is wrong with people?

I know, and like PP, I honestly try not to read about it because it makes me so upset.  If that makes me an ostrich, so be it.  I called my husband in tears after I read the story to tell him I love him and I am so grateful for our little family.  I've been sad all day and have been praying for that poor mother...   Horrific is right.

  • Some jack*** in Dallas drowned two of his kids yesterday after he abducted them going to the bus stop.  He tried to get his 1 year old too but wasn't successful.  I hope he gets the death penalty or is killed by other inmates.  Crimes against children upset me so much.

I also don't usually watch the news, but this was the leading story last night.

BrideBuddies...I'm going to need a PM with what all of those letters mean.

  • Puts me in tears that anyone would contemplate harming any child, let alone their own. There was a dad in the news here in the last week that slashed his 10 month old in the throat and stomach. That little boy is beyond lucky that the paramedics saved his life. The dad is being held until his hearing. Makes me sick, I don't know what to say. Definately hug your babes.
