DH and I are debating earlier bedtime or earlier wake time. This is LO's schedule: DS wakes up the first time in the am anywhere between 5-7 I feed, change, swaddle again he's back to bed for another 2 hours roughly, when he wakes up then is when it's the hardest on me to stay awake (I used to be a sleep until noon kinda person) so that's when I put him in bed with me, I nurse him, we drift off, nurse...we do this until about noonish. Once we are up he naps again around 2pm for only 20-30 min then again around 4-5 pm another 30 min, then around 7pm, we start bedtime routine around 8 he's asleep between 9-9:30, wakes up around 1, then again around 3-4 am. So the other day he sttn, that morning I had to work at ten, once LO was up around 8:30 DH was up too so he kept him up and he napped 30 min increments the rest of the morning. DH says LO sttn because he was up early. Around 7 he is VERY sleepy, he never fights it like he does in the afternoon, but he always wakes up around 8 pm. *sigh* sorry! So what do you think? Do you think I'm wrong by making sleep so much all morning? Should I put him in bed earlier even though when I've done it he wakes up after only one hour or so....
Re: Yet another question about sleep...
This.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but you're a mother now. It's time to get up and at em' early. Pretty soon you will have a toddler that's going to need breakfast at 7-8am when they wake up. Time to get used to it now.
Also, those are hours in the day that your LO needs to be practicing things like rolling, grabbing at toys, sitting up etc. Not laying in bed with Mom all morning.
I'm really side-eyeing this right now. I can't help it.
I agree. I find that DD is happiest during the day and most willing to participate in tummy time and talking to mommy when she's slept from about 8-6. Occasionally she'll wake at 5 or 6 and go back to sleep until 7:30 or so, in which case she's still pretty happy the next day. I can't imagine letting her sleep in until noon!

I agree with this. I looooove sleeping until noon and would happily do it. But I have a baby now, and she needs to learn that we get up, get dressed, have breakfast, etc. That means I'm up at 6 or 7 getting my breakfast and getting dressed so I can wake her up. 12 hours of sleep for her is enough.
Thank you ALL for your responses. In all honesty. I didn't see a harm on napping during the morning since people keep telling me that they should not go more than two hours awake between naps, so he takes one nap still in his pnp until roughly 8-8:30 then after feeding, changing and all that (esp. since at this time he's happy and alert so play a little) LO gets another nap at around 10-10:30 and this one is the one I take with him, and we nap from 10-10:30 until 11:30-12. He is not in bed with me all morning. Thanks again ladies!

there's no harm in napping in the morning. most babies take at least a morning nap and an afternoon nap.
but from your original post, you said that you bring him in your bed to nurse with you because you have a hard time waking up and you just nurse and sleep off and on until noon.
that's different than saying "baby gets up at 7, eats, plays, back to bed from 8:30-10am, eats, plays, back to bed at 11:30-1:30, etc.
