Solids ?

in March 2011 Moms

For those of you that have LOs on purees, how much do they get? Our pedi said to give him until it seems he doesn't want anymore. DS would gladly eat the whole container. I've read somewhere (can't remember where) to feed about a tablespoon. I usually cut DS off at half the container.

June 2010 - IVM
July 2, 2010- BFP Beta July 5th - 931 Repeat beta July 7th - 2,779
July 13, 2010- First ultrasound! Gestational sac found!
July 16, 2010 - 2nd u/s due to bleeding. Twins found! Baby A is great! Praying for Baby B!
July 23, 2010 - 3rd u/s. Saw Baby A's flicker of a heartbeat! Lost Baby B. :-(
March 16, 2011 - Nathan James was born
November 26, 2012 - surprise BFP! It's a girl!
July 26, 2013 - Lilianna Jean was born

    I vary it a lot with my LO. I am still BFing a lot so i am not too concerned if she doesn't eat much. For the most part I have been feeding her 3 tsp. of cereal and lately i have been replacing 1 tsp of cereal with avocado so she has 2 tsp of cereal and 1 tsp of avocado and then I BF till she is full.

    Thank you for your reply. I BF too. DS gets BM all day. I give him solids around dinner time. I BF first, wait about an hour and give solids. I'm not concerned if he doesn't get a lot of solids because I know it is practice but I'm concerned he may get too much. He seems to like solids more than BM. LOL.

    Sometimes DD will eat the entire container of stage 1 food, and other times she is uninterested halfway through and we stop.  If she is turning away, getting distracted easily, or unhappy we stop.  For the most part she just grunts until we give her more.  She loves her solids.  Make sure that you are giving them a bottle/BFing before solids so they don't fill up on the solids instead of formula/BM, which is where all the nutrition is.

    My son will eat the whole jar (the small stage one jar)  But it hasn't affected his BFing or changed the amount of milk he takes during the day when I am not there.   If we give him cereal I do one tablespoon of cereal mixed with breast milk.
