Anyone get mastitis when baby is older?

Saturday evening i skipped a feeding bc we were out. DS got a bottle. We are trying to practice bottles anyway bc he was having a hard time with them. I fed him when we got home and then pumped. I was sore. Then DS decided to sleep until 4:30am. I woke up on pain. Fed him on one side (the more painful one) and then he slept until 7. He usually wakes up bw 1:30-2:30 so I was shocked. Woke up with an awful headache on Sunday, boobs sore, back hurt. Monday morning felt ok but felt bad in the afternoon ( tired & headache). Today woke up fine, went out, started feeling crappy at 3:00. Tired, headache, sore, left breast still hurts. Started getting warm with chills. Took temp and started at 100.4, then 102.8 and then 103.4. I'm going to the OB tomorrow. DS is 14 weeks He has started stretching feedings to 3-3.5 hours. Slept until 4:15 again last night. It is my "overproducing" breast that hurts. Any get mastitis so late?

    I got mastitis when LO was young - 4 weeks old. But I have heard of moms getting it when LO is 5 or 6 months old, especially as the babies start to go longer times between meals.

    Yup...got it two weeks ago.  I was feeling WAY better by the third day of antibiotics, but I also pumped to empty like a mad woman.  Hope you feel better soon...SOOOO not fun!

    How long did it take to go away with antibiotics?

    Well I was on 10 days of antibiotics, but my fever broke within 24 hours and I was feeling 100% by day 2. My fever only got as high as 101.

    I don't think mine was as bad as some other women.

    I got it when ds was four weeks old.  I took antibiotics for ten days, but my fever broke 48 hours after and by day three I felt much better.  My fever at it's highest was 103.1.

    My fever was 104.1 last night. Luckily it went down with advil and tylenol. I'm going to tge doc today. I could barely get off the could last night.

    It's good the fever went down with meds. Def go to the doc today!
