What exactly do they feel like? Do you feel your tummy hardening even if you're chubby to begin with? I am trying to figure out if I am experiencing them or it's just the baby turning.

    I was overweight and still knew when I was having them. They dont hurt but you can tell when your belly gets really tight!

    So does your belly feel tight on the outside too?  I was actually wondering about this just the other day because I felt a tightening in my abdomen, but it didn't feel tight or harder than usual on the outside.

    Sure does. Take a second to poke your belly right now then when you think you are having one poke the same spot again. It should be really tight and you shouldnt be able to push in at all.

    This is helpful. My belly actually still feels soft, so I am wondering if he's just shifting. Or maybe it's just gas. I obviously have no clue :)

    Even now at 39w, I think im having a BH but its really just LO pushing her butt against my belly.

    this. i didn't realize it at first and thought it was the baby turning. you can def tell. super hard and tight for a few seconds.

    Like all the other ladies said, you can definitely tell when you're having one. Mine don't hurt, my belly just gets SUPER hard! My doc related it to what a baketball feels like. They last a few seconds and then my belly softens up a bit again. Mine are primarily up high.

    Even being overweight, you can tell.  Your stomach just gets really hard and tight, from the outside you can't even push in on it.  It also almost felt like indigestion as it was up so high that I just had to pause for a minute to breathe.  It didn't hurt, just felt weird.
