So this is my first time on any discussion board for fertility issues. I just have so many questions and would like to hear from people who are going through the same thing I have been going through. First of all I have been TTC sinc May of 2010, we attempted it on our own until July 2010 when I went to the doctor he said I was not ovulating and he put me on 50mg of Clomid. Oh by the way I am 29 and I have endometriosis. I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 22. My husband is 33 and he has a normal sperm count. Well anyway, the 50mg of clomid caused me to have multiple and very large cysts on my ovaries, so the doc dropped my dosage down to 25mg in November. In December 2010 I did not take any clomid I just needed a month off. I resumed taking clomid in January 2011. Finally on June 2nd 2011 I had my first IUI along with the 25mg of clomid and an HCG shot. I also had 2 very large follicles. Well that was an excrutiating 2 week wait. I was so afraid to have spent all that money and get a negetive pregnancy test that I waited until day 18 after ovulation to take a pregnancy test. It did come back positive but in the back of mind I thought it was too good to be true & it was. On day 20 I lost the embryo. Well on August 9th I had my second IUI accompanied by 25mg of clomid and an HCG shot. I had 2 large follicles and 1 that was smaller. Unfortunately during this week my OB-GYN doc was on vacation and one of the other doctors had to do my IUI. Well we got to the doc's office with the semen specimen at 3:30 this is after driving about 35 min. because we live several miles away from our doctor's office in another town. We dropped off our specimen at 3:30 and the nurse took it back to the lab to be washed. We waited forever it seemed. They did not call me back to go to a room until 5:00 and the doctor didn't come in the room to do the IUI procedure until 5:38. In all the research I've done & from what my doc told me plus my experience from the last time I thought that the sperm had to be inserted with in 30 min. - 1 hour once they start washing it and it was more like over 2 hours before he inserted it. I was very upset by all of this. Well during my recent 2 week wait I have had cramping and on day 11 after ovulation I had a very very small amount of very light pink spotting, pretty much just when I wiped but a very small amount was in my undewear during that day. I was hoping & praying this was implantation bleeding. Well this was on saturday, the next day Sunday I had some nuasea but never threw up. On Monday I called my doc's office to let them know what had went on over the weekend. The nurse told me to go ahead and take a pregnancy test cause if it was positive they were wanting to bring me in and do blood work to check my hormone levels because I have had pretty low hormone levels in the past. Well last night which was day 13 after ovulation I took a first response pregnancy test & it came back negative. This morning which was day 14 after ovulation I took another first response pregnancy test & it came back negative as well. For the past 5 months I have been on a 32-35 day cycle. I just need some hope, some prayers, something, because this crap is getting old and expensive real fast. I'm finding myself more angry & sad than anything. My questions are could I have gotten a false negative because it was too early in my cycle or because of low hormone levels? Could I not have gotten pregnant because the doc waited over 2 hours before he actually did the IUI? On day 11 if that spotting wasnt implantation bleeding then what could it be?

Re: IUI
Welcome to the board.
I can't answer your questions for you, but I would definitely call your RE and ask those questions directly. I think having those questions answered would lift a burden off your shoulders. If you don't feel like you can ask your RE or a nurse those questions, is there another clinic you could look at?
I have a LOT of trust in my RE. This could be a bad thing...but I trust that she knows what she's doing (she's the best in my area). They are brutally honest with me, and I appreciate it so I know I'm not "wasting" money for taking another chance. I have never felt annoying or bad for calling them with my questions.
I understand how frustrated you are. My clinic is 40-minutes way, and after blood tests and procedures, you hold onto hope that it's worth it in the long run.
I hope you get your questions answered. Sending T&P's your way!
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.
To answer your questions, if you're 14dpiui and you're getting a negative HPT, chances are you're not PG. Also, it's not uncommon for there to be a couple of hours of "lag" time between wash and IUI. At my clinic, samples are dropped off b/t 7-8am and IUIs are done b/t 10:30 - 11am. If the spotting you had at 11dpiui wasn't implantation bleeding, it could be some pre-period spotting, it could be from an irritated cervix if you are on Progesterone supplements or had sex recently, or it could just be random mid-cycle spotting.
IF sucks...emotionally, physically and financially. GL moving forward hun. This board is a great source of support and is full of wonderful, knowledgable women.
