A 5.8 magnitude quake hit in Virginia. I'm in NJ and our whole building shook. Crazy.
Anyone closer to the epicenter? Are things ok down there?
Edit: I'm a geologist and feel compelled to post this as well. Help out science and take a minute to fill out a 2 min survey about what you felt in the EQ.

LOL, it's like how Northerners feel when Southerners freak out over an inch of snow... or how East Coasters feel when Californians freak out over a rain/thunderstorm!
EXACTLY! It cracks me up when we get a little rain and all of a sudden its "STORM WATCH 2011!"

I'm in MD and felt it. It's the first time I've ever felt an earthquake... it was crazy. I just feel bad for the kids that started school today. Imagine having to evacuate because of an earthquake on your first day back!
My coworkers stuff fell off her shelves and a light broke. When I got home a vase of flowers (dried) had fallen as well as our wedding album off a shelf.

I definitely felt it in NC, and I said the exact same thing -- the baby got a little shot of adrenaline there for a minute! Glad to hear things are OK in VA.
