I'm in Philly and work on the 55th floor (of 56 flrs). The building was shaking soo bad. They're closing our bldg and we all get to go home!! My bldg is new so I'm surprised they are closing it. It's like the safest bldg in Philly.
oh well! Guess I can finish painting my living room.

It's so crazy that the East Coast hard an earthquake. I'm glad to hear that they are being cautious and closing buildings for inspections even if they are new.
Being from the West Coast it's not a huge deal because we expect them at some point. When we had the big earthquake back in 2001 in Seattle I was in college and we weren't allowed back in our dorms till they checked them but we were allowed in the student union building and other campus buildings. The worst part was I was 120 miles away and felt it and was frantically trying to get a hold of my mom and brother. Finally had to call my grandma collect to get through because the cell towers were so busy.
I am in South Jersey and I am only on the 2nd floor. I was on the phone and had no clue what was going on...but I knew it wasn't good...it took me a minute to realize it was a quake. At first I thought my building was having, umm, structural problems...then when a client got off the phone with me in a hurry I knew he felt it too and realized what it was.
Nice to see ladies on here from my local area!
