Parenting after 35

Re: 1st Tri is so awesome

  • (O_o)

That first link: I drank caffeine AND used Splenda (with my coffee drink) when I was pregnant, and my dr had no issue with it. And you know what? Normally I'm totally a "mom said not to play ball in the house" type of person, but pregnancy really helped me relax that for some reason.

I did have a co-irker old enough to be my mom chide me for drinking a bottled Starbucks drink because "caffeine makes the baby hyper." I told her thanks, but my dr said it was ok so I'll go with what she says.  Co-irker was shocked at this medical breakthrough.

I did play the "I can't eat lunch meat" card, but only because I was over lunch meat.

  • The first one was annoying but the second link gets ranked up there with the 'Best of the Bump."  LOL.  That is a gem.
  • Are they seriously that dumb or are those fake posts to keep that board going? It's entertaining though!

That is just plain scary. Both the not so bright ones and the insanely biotchy ones.

I do have to confess that I did get a good chuckle out of a post that happened at least a couple of years ago on first tri.  A girl on first tri asked what people were using for birth control once they got pregnant, because she didn't want to have Irish twins.  Numerous people tried to explain nicely, many people where just mean, and one poster kept dumping fuel on the fire by pointing out that there is a condition called superfecundity (or maybe hyperfecundity) which does allow a pregnant woman to conceive again and that she knew because it had happened to her. While such a condition does exist, the poster was relunctant to admit that it is incredibly rare (outside of soap operas), which only got the OP more concerned. It was a train wreck.

    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.
  • Pahokie -- that post you're referring to WAS a train wreck -- but SO funny!

I do think that many people use the Bump boards as a way to get out some aggression. The anonymity allows them to be cruel where, hopefully, they aren't usually. Or they are just nasty people.

I try to be nice. I'm not always. But I'm also not deliberately cruel to others. Why bother? It does nothing for me and hurts someone else. But I've always been "nice" that way and it's often bitten me on the tush!

  • Think we could possibly blame the erratic behavier of  teenagers on caffeine consumption during pregancy.

These posts are priceless. I needed the chuckle.
