Tell me when your kid sat unassisted

Just curious. When was your LO able to sit on his/her butt without tripoding or toppling over?

DD is getting there - she can sit in the tripod position for any length of time by herself, looking around and all. She is just starting to sit up straighter and lift her hands off the ground, but is pretty wobbly when she does. She pulled her hands off the ground today to play with the wicked block tower I made for her, but toppled within 10 seconds-ish. The post below about the Munchkin duck tub made me want to use ours, but I want her to be able to sit better before I do!

My son sat unassisted around 5 1/2 months.

My daughter is the laziest baby ever and still can't/won't.

On the late side, around 6.5 months. In the last month and a half she went from barely being able to tripod sit to full out crawling, pulling up, and cruising. Help! lol

DS still falls over after 5 seconds. He's 8 months.

Roughly 6 months was when he was able to sit better and start catching himself when he fell back. Up until then he could sit unassisted at 5 1/2 month if he sat still and wouldn't wobble.

DD can sit for a while...about 10 minutes. She does topple over every once in a while, but she's pretty good.

Only for a few seconds up until 7ish months when he could start doing it really well. The other day (at 8 months) he sat for like a 1/2 hour playing with toys and didn't wobble.
