My baby boy was born on Saturday, July 30th (our six year wedding anniversary!!!!!) at 8:42pm. He was born 8 days early.
William Michael weighed a whopping 9 pounds, 11 ounces. He was a very long 23 inches! I delivered him vaginally (ack!).?
I went into labor the night before around 10 pm. It happened suddenly. I started having contractions that were instantly 4 to 5 minutes apart, lasting over a minute. I soon started vomiting and my body was cleaning itself out. I waited until about 3 am to call my doctor. I went into the hospital at 4:30 am. I was 4 cm dilated and 80% effaced and the baby was very low. I was admitted. I labored for a while. The contractions were manageable. I didn't want an epidural, but I knew it could be an option. Around 11 am, I was started on Pitocin. OMG the pain from the Pitocin was outrageous. I soon received an epidural! I was dilating slowly. A little before 5:30 pm, I started to push. I pushed for about 3 1/2 hours. It was a very long 3 1/2 hours. Pushing is so exhausting and difficult! I cried and begged my OB for a c-section. Because I have a history of blood clots and some other weird medical issues, my OB really did not want to do a c-section unless the baby or I was in danger. Finally, he was ready to come out. He was pulled out of me because he was so big and the doctor was worried about him losing oxygen, and he broke his collarbone coming out!
But he will be fine and there is no issue. No one could believe how big and long he was!?
I had an episiotomy, and then I tore the entire rest of the way. It is a fourth degree tear. The pain has been unreal. I never in a million years thought the pain would be so bad. It is now three weeks later, and I am just starting to feel a bit better. I still cannot sit on a chair. I left the house yesterday (3 weeks after giving birth) for the first time (besides his pediatrician appointments). I went back to the OB last Wednesday, and he thinks I separated my pelvic bone while giving birth because the baby was so big. It is something that will just take time to heal. DH has been amazing and does almost everything since I am still in so much pain.?
The baby had to go back to the hospital for jaundice for two days, but he is fine now. He is great! It is a lot of work, but fun and rewarding. I still look at him and cannot believe I am a mom and I have this dream in my arms. It is amazing. He is really cute!?
Thanks so much for all your support, girls! I will be lurking and occasionally posting on this board. I guess I need to move over to the SAIF board. Wow.
Enjoy your pregnancies. I really miss feeling him move and kick inside of me. For me, that was the greatest feeling!

Re: My birth story (finally!)
Congrats momma and way to go on such a big baby. I had an epis and a 3rd degree and it was bad enough. DS only weighed 7-9. I had a dream (?nightmare) the other night that this baby weighed 9-12, ugh.
Can't wait to see you over on SAIF!
