Since our wedding invite list is small we are thinking it might be easier and cheaper for us to just do a destination wedding. Then have a small party when we get back. Only issue is I do not even know where to begin to look at going. So if any one has had one or been part of one if you could share where it was would be great! TIA
Re: Anybody do a destination wedding?
My friend just had one on a cruise. Of course, I couldn't go back you can't be more than 6 mo PG.
They did a a 5-day Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Carnival Destiny. I think it was a little hard for people to take that much time off work and pay that much for the trip, but the photos were beautiful and it looked like a great time.
I'm lurking, but we had a DW. It was amazing and I wouldn't have it any other way. We went through these guys in Saint Thomas. You can customize is in every way possible. Angela was amazing! If you have any questions or want to see pictures, PM me. I'm happy to help!

I got married on a cruise ship 11 years ago...on the Grand Princess....wouldnt do it any other way it was amazing!
I gave everyone a year and half notice though and whoever wanted to join us was welcome...didnt think alot of folks would come but giving them so much time gave them time to save up and 70 folks ended up going with us! It was a week long party and we had a blast! This past dec we did a reunion cruise and had 40 folks go on that cruise!
if i had to do it over again I would go the same route....we also did a reception for when we got home....showed a video of the wedding and highlights of the cruise at the reception....was alot of fun
I got married & honeymooned in Vegas. It wasn't like a cheapo drive thru with Elvis, it was a traditional ceremony at the Venetian. They did everything for us; hair, makeup, flowers, officiant, got us a limo to the courthouse and back, and helped us reserve tuxes, accommodations, shows, and the restaurant for our reception. We had 25 people attend.
Total cost for everything including hotel, flight, invitations, my dress, tuxes, favors, cake, open bar, reception, and all the food and shows for the 7 days we were there was $7k. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Plus it is very fun to be in a wedding dress at the casino!
We did a beach wedding near Destin. FL and it was perfect for being planned in only 1 month! We just found a planner online and they took care of the flowers, photographer, videographer, and lots more....only thing is I have NO CLUE what the name of the company was b/c it was 4 years ago and I'm oober forgetful! It was a perfect wedding though! I totally recommend doing a destination wedding if you are just having a small ceremony.
A friend of mine did Sandals in Jamaica and it was gorgeous too!
The husband and I only had 2 weeks in the States to get married and have a honeymoon. He is from Wyoming and I am from California. Las Vegas was our middle ground. It was a garden wedding and it was gorgeous. All of our friends and family had fun, there are a million hotels in the city so everyone found a place to stay in their price range. Just so you know I hate gambling and I loved the wedding.
We went through this place, it is family ran, and they were amazing! The only thing I had to do was send out invites, give them my color scheme, and show up in a wedding dress:

We had a destination wedding in the dominican republic... It was great and the DR is pretty inexpensive which made it easy for our guests to be able to join us... I would not have had any other type of wedding either... I posted a couple pictures for you too see..
