Trying to Get Pregnant

Argh! I'm so annoyed ... and jumping on the wagon.

So I had ordered the OV watch. I have had friends that have used it and they loved it. Temping/charting always overwhelmed me and this seemed like a nice alternative.

I wore it Saturday night and last night (CD 1 and CD 2). The freaking thing BROKE. I was SO FREAKING ANGRY. I know that it's silly, but it really made my day off to such a bad start. I was so excited about it.

So, on my way in to work this morning, I stopped at the pharmacy and bought a BBT. I'm still super scared about doing it. When I get home I'm going to check out FF and sign up for it.

Ugh. Thanks for letting me vent.

  • Boo!  Hopefully you can return the OV watch.  Click on my ticker and sign up for FF.  It's overwhelming at first but you'll get used to it pretty quickly!  Then it becomes addicting :o)

  • Can you possibly tell the company or get a new one since it was so new?

Yeah I never understand when people say they're scared to temp or they think it's "too confusing".  You take your temperature at the same time daily and plug it into a website.  The website does the rest.

The sensor, which you replace every month, snaps in place in the back of the watch. This morning, when I took the watch out, the sensor fell out, and would not snap back in place. When I put it in on Saturday night, it clicked, no problem. Now, every time I tried to click it back in, it was like there was nothing TO click in. And I didn't do anything differently taking it off or putting it on Saturday night than I did Sunday night.

You don't wear it in public. You wear it at night when you go to bed, and  you take it off in the morning.

It's FDA approved, so I don't think of it as "gimmicky" though I suppose some could see it as that.

I don't expect for people to 'understand' why I'm scared --- it's a fear that I can't understand myself. I think 'overwhelmed' is more likely. Maybe because I haven't started yet and when I do I won't feel that way.

Celest, I'm just trying to give you some perspective here. Temping is not scary. You will be fine.

There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of reviews of the OV watch online and the majority of complaints are about the sensor falling out.  I believe there is a customer service number you can call to get it replaced, but it doesn't sound like they are quick to respond.

Why don't you just exchange it for a new one that works?
