What do yall do with LO when you put gas in your car? Do you take LO out and pump or just leave LO in the car? If you leave LO in the car, do you turn the car off or leave it on? With all the talk of leaving your child in the car, it got me (legitimately) thinking. So I'm just curious.
Re: When you pump gas
Well, my car is always OFF when I'm pumping gas
And I leave my kids in the car, because I can see/talk to them while I'm pumping. If I have to go inside and pay? Yeah, they all come with me.
I have never once left my kids in the car, even for 5 minutes. I know, I'm so high and mighty!!
This is me as well. I don't usually have to worry about this though, because we only have one car so if I'm driving it my DH is home with the kids.
I hate taking LO with me when I have to pump gas. But I just crack open the window and watch her and car is always off.
It's so weird because the first time I needed gas and LO was in the car I had a little panic attack about what to do (it was also super hot out at the time). So I just did a quick fill and after DH got home from work I sent him to finish filling the tank... crazy FTM here!
Pay at the pump only, and I open the window or the whole door and talk to him while I pump gas.
...and I'm about 99% sure you're supposed to turn the car off when you pump gas. Right?

this or I make DH do it since he primarily drives.

I try to use Pay at the Pump whenever I can. LO is in the car, with the car off and the windows rolled down. If I have to go into pay then LO comes with me. Luckily DH drives my car a couple of times a week so he usually makes sure the car is filled up for me. I don't drive a lot.
And I always bring my keys with me. I'm always paranoid that I'm going to lock myself out of the car. I did this even before I had DS.
Baby #2 on the way!
I always take him out to go in and pay and then I hook up the pump and get it started. While the car is filling up I get LO back in his seat. Normally by the time I'm done with that the car is full and I'm ready to go!

I live in the middle of nowhere, but am lucky enought to have a full-serve around the corner. It's the only gas station for 30kms either way. So, I don't leave the car at all.
But if I had to, I would pay at the pump. I did this before LO too though. Otherwise I would buy a chocolate bar each time I went in
