My mom just told me about flash flooding in pittsburgh and was really upset by the deaths. After hearing about it my grandma has decided that we need the tool to break your window and a pair of scissors that if something were to ever happen we could cut the kids from the carseat.
This has never occured to me to have in the car but I guess it makes sense. In an emergency I might not be able to get the carseat straps undone. Just something to think about putting in your car.

I do, little bitty things for cutting coupons or tags off something new that R can't wait for.
The window punch and seat belt cutter would be great if you need to help someone else. If your in an accident and hurt, you aren't going to be cutting your seat belt. If your not hurt, then you would most likely be able to undo your belt or your childs car seat.
EMS will be taking the whole car seat out, not just your child. Now, if you came upon an accident that had someone trapped....yeah, the tool would be handy.
In a flood....you wouldn't be safe getting out and trying to swim through the water with your child. There didn't seem to be much that could be done in the PA flood. It is a freak thing that is very sad.
Thanks. I was trying to think of a situation where a seat belt cutter would be useful, this is a good one!
