Pumpkin Patch??

I'm looking for a pumpkin farm that has corn maze preferably to have Lo's first birthday party at. Do you all have any ideas of local farms?? i have changed my mind like 20 times about a theme for his party, mostly because my family is HUGE and i also want to invite the kids (and families) that are part of his age group at church. It'll give us a way of getting to know them and maybe be able to make connections for play dates and all. (we are the youngest parents at church i'm officially convinced of that!)

Anyway, a pumpkin patch seems to have a nice theme ( fall/pumpkins) plus activities for all ages! and GREAT picture opportunities!:)

 thanks Ladies!

  • Ticonderoga and Cox farms are fun.

  • Great Country Farms is nice.  They have a corn maze, hay rides, animals, and the big bouncy pillow.

  • Cox Farms seems to get rave reviews. Here's a good list:

  • Do you have a preference for Maryland vs. Virginia?

I like Homestead Farm in Maryland. They have lots of cute farm animals and I think they have a corn maze in the fall. But it gets really crowded on weekends, so I'm not sure how well a weekend birthday party would work.

  • Most of the family lives in VA as well as the other guests we plan to invite! so VA would  be better for us!

This is my local fave too.

  • We went to Cox Farms last year and there are a few things I would tell you.  One, it gets crowded the later in October you go.  Two, it gets expensive because there is an admission charge for all guests.  Three, it was tons of fun and I am looking forward to taking DD back again this year.  Here's a good list of local ones.  Temple Hall Farms may only charge for the Maize Maze and the pumpkin you pick, although I haven't been there in a while.  One of the MD farms in Poolesville also doesn't charge admission, Homestead maybe?
  • not sure where you are in VA but Montpelier Farm was actually closer to us than some of the VA farms even though it is in Maryland. They had things for all ages and it was not too crowded. Plus, they have areas for parties.

Also, the Pumpkin Playground in Burke was nice too.

  • Another vote for Great County Farms.  Lots to do for the little ones, and other folks can go do a u-pick depending on when the party is and what's available.
