DH is no help and it is tomorrow so I need something I can get tomorrow morning (ie general ideas not a specific link because there's no time to ship).
Some info that makes this a large challenge. BIL is an alcoholic/drug addict (oh the family fun!) so we do not want to give him cash and support his bad habits. MIL has recommended cigarettes which is okay I guess, but I don't really like the idea (I've never bought cigarettes before and it seems like another unhealthy choice). He is on disability so I was considering a grocery store gift certificate but MIL said he doesn't really eat much and probably wouldn't appreciate it. I'm not sure if clothes are the best idea as I'm not sure of the size or how much he needs them. He lives in a fairly isolated part of town and doesn't drive so most gift-cards would not be useful.
Any ideas? Looking to spend about $20-$30 (we're not exactly close).
Re: NBR: What do you get your BIL for his 40th birthday?
Oh my... my suggestion would be to stick with the grocery store giftcard. Even if he 'doesn't eat much' he still has to eat. That, or maybe a giftcard for a gas station? Then he can get his own smokes/gas for his car (if he has one) or find a gas station that sells booze if he so pleases. You're not directly supporting his habits then.
What a tough one though.... is there a fast food joint near him? Even a giftcard there might just be good enough. I'd personally just stick a 20 in a cheap card and to heck with it.
