I am on my way home from a week long visit with Claire. DH wasn't able to come with. So far flying with her has been a nightmare, and largely NOT because of her.
On the way down I was told that she had to come out of my moby (which I had just put her in!!!) when I got on the plane, because of risk of entanglement in an emergency - for take off and landing. This makes no sense to me but whatever.
My second flight was delayed 2 hours, which put us in the vancouver airport for 5 hours. UGHGHGH. THen once we got on the plane it was delayed even longer for baggage, but I wasn't told that until AFTER I was told she had to come out of my moby again. She screamed until the plane took off 1/2 hour later and I could put her back.
Now on the way home my first flight was cancelled, then the rebooked flight was delayed. I have such a headache and I haven't even got on the plane yet.
With all the delays I won't get home until for another 6 hours (10pm) and I'm already exhausted.
ALSO the bathrooms in the Calgary airport DO NOT HAVE CHANGE TABLES. When I saw this I was tempted to just change DD in the middle of the damn airport floor on her changing pad, but I restrained myself. The handicap bathrooms work, but there are fewer of them.
I feel extremely stabby right now.
Re: I am seriously going to need a drink after today.
The airport may not have changing tables but it sure does have a bar - grab a drink! GOOD LUCK.
PS - I love "stabby" - what a great adjective.
I'm sorry you had to go through this!!
BTW, I love the adjective "stabby". It's totally my new fave.
Go get yourself a "mommy drink". It sounds like it's high time.
Good luck for the rest of your trip!
Actually they have nursing rooms! At least there is one in the domestic terminal (by the bathrooms near the Starbucks) It had a rocking chair in it and a changing station. I didn't find it until after I had nursed LO already but I did change his diaper in there. There is also a changing station in the bathroom by Gate A1 (where the little planes are), it's built into the bathroom counter. I had to ask the cleaning staff where it was.
Sorry you had a crappy flight. Hopefully it will be better next time.
Baby #2 on the way!
I did eventually find that nursing room, but I had already BFed DD. Oh well.
