Pregnant after IF

Crinone users please help!

Hi ladies! Well early this morning as i was getting ready to go out, i was having some mild cramping and because im neurotic i check the tp constantly. And wouldn't ya know, it was red. At first it was red and then started to look more brown. I just looked at my husband and he could see it in my face. Called the RE immediately and got in for an u/s. We have been monitoring my progesterone so he knows its not a drop in progesterone causing this. The u/s showed the bleeding is coming from my cervix. I am bleeding more then i'd like to be and its getting weirder. Im trying to google crinone and some of the bleeding/spotting side effects and im really hoping this is just a "back up" of gel coming out. Please tell me someone else out there has experienced anything like this? The u/s showed a nice looking sac and the dr said it was "encouraging". We go back Saturday for the u/s for hb. Keep your fingers crossed. Im definitely scared to be going through this, again.....

  • It's very normal to have an over sensitive cerviex (due to all that wonderful extra blood flow)that will bleed at any little irritant. Sex, Dilocam, internal exam and the Crinone can ll cause bleeding. My RE said as long as the spotting is coming from outside your uterus it's okay. The nurse at my RE office told me to insert just the tip, this will prevent cervix irritation. Good luck Hun!

Oh wow, really? Not to be graphic but i was kinda putting it in as far as it could go so i knew it got to where it needed to go. I dont usually have any leakage or discharge, but i do it at night. Im still petrified but am trying to tell myself that the dr said its coming from my cervix and i have read a lot of people say Crinone irritates your cervix. I guess im more paranoid because this is the exact same situation that i faced in my last pregnancy where we had an u/s, everything looked great, we went back for hb, and nothing. These next few days are going to be difficult, but thanks for your help!

At first I was listening to my nurse, but once I started to get all that discharge I started doing the same thing as you. Pushing it far in well I got some spotting went to the RE and then they explained why you are only supposed to insert only the tip. Lesson learned Embarrassed

Soon the worry will fade it may take 9 mths but I promise it will fade. Hang in there we are all here for ya.

  • I was on Crinone but didn't have any bleeding.  It is most likely from an irritated cervix though, like pp said.  You have a lot of extra blood flow so any irritation can cause bleeding.  Try not putting the applicator so far in and see if that helps.  Good luck!
