Sciatic nerve pain?

If you've had it.. Please tell me what it feels like.. I know I'm only a little over 15w but I get this shooting lower back pain only right side that makes me feel almost if my knee is dislocated.. It's freaking horrible! I get "stuck" if I get in a position that causes it and it's so painful to get out!

TTC - August 2009 DX: Severe MFI & TF due to TBI
DH SA 0 count, started clomid therapy - November 2010
DH SA 0 count, increased clomid dosage - January 2011
DH SA 75 million with 60% motility!! - May 2011
IVF with ICSI ONLY OPTION - May 2011
3dt of 2 Grade A 8&7 cell embryos May 19, 2011

    I actually have had it on my right side about two years ago and had to go to a chiro, pt, and massage therapist to relieve it. Mine was a shooting pain through my mid bum to down the back of my leg. It was caused by my Piriformus (sp?) being too tight! I'm assuming it's only a matter of time before it strikes again!

    Get a tennis ball and if you can stand it put it mid bum cheek of the side affected. You can do this against a wall or on the floor. Also if you manually massage it may help loosen it. Also check your seat in your car (this was the primary cause for me originally) Make sure that your seat isn't up to the steering wheel. Ice not heat if you can stand it. If it's really bad I'd go to a massage therapist or chiro. Good Luck!!

    I had it so bad during IVF stims, I couldn't sleep. My pain was all the way down both of my legs and even in my feet and toes. Three visits to a good chiropractor and I haven't had a problem since.

    I haven't had it recently, but I did get it when we were doing PIO because the muscle was swollen and pressing on the nerve. It was really painful! I couldn't sit or stand for a long time, but sitting was the worst. I had shooting pain from my hip down to my foot... ugh. I'm so sorry if this is what you have! It's really annoying. I hope you feel better soon!

    I had sciatic pain right around 15-16 weeks too.  Mine seemed to be brought on by pushing myself physically.  It was a lot like what you describe.  There were several times that I got "stuck" and I would just have to try to sit down where I was until it passed.  Massaging the area helped a little and my OB said I could try low heat for about 15 mins.  Fortunately, taking it easier has seemed to help and it passed after a couple weeks.  It's awful pain.  I hope it passes for you really soon!

    Sounds like it could be sciatica.

    I deal with this on a regular basis because of some spine issues I have.  I just started going back to my chiropractor and massage therapist (since I'm not out of 1st Tri) and it does help.  

    I hope you get some relief soon.  It's no fun.  :(
