I was reading one of my friends FB statuses (remember the one that posted her pregnancy was half way over at 18 weeks) and she said her baby is hurting her and maybe she wants out early. Someone replied "you've just got to pop her and let her know who's in charge because she won't be ruling you once she gets here". So Im thinking Maybe it's a joke, although not a funny one. Then two replies later she writes again, "I'm serious. I used to pop mine when they would move while I was trying to sleep.".

    Yes, like spanking through your belly. The f-ing beauty of it is that I'm sure that chick didn't hurt anyone but herself but it scares me to think what she did when her baby cried while she was trying to sleep when a little prenatal wiggling prompted a spanking.

    I'm confused as well.  I can understand trying to sleep and you have things to do the next day (such as having to get up early for work) and becoming frustrated but actually trying to physically discipline your child while they're in the womb?  Ummm...I'd just stick with being frustrated and grunting than hitting myself.

    Sadly, it's not the first time I've heard of an asshat doing that.  My sister's ex-coworker was pregnant the same time as I was.  She told my sister that she would poke her baby when she kicked her to teach her not to kick.  My sister was horrified and told her that she nuts but the coworker insisted her kid would know who "the boss" is.  Ugh!

    DH would loving "spank" both LOs when they were in utero.....when they would stick their butt out. It became kind-of a game for them. I swear they knew when he was around b/c they would stick their butts out. :)

    That being said, we never were mad at our LOs, and def did not "spank"/"pop" them. :(

     

    ETA: it was never a hard "spank/pop" but it was funny to watch them move & stick their butts out FURTHER in retaliation, LOL.
