They have cracked down on it hard here (in Florida) so think we already went through the worst of it but I read that sometimes they have to use anesthesia to completely "put them under" because they were using the maxium amount of sedatives allowed by law to try to calm them and it wasnt working. And apparently it takes a very long time for the effects to go away so even then it is dangerous to use un-needed anesthesia for these long periods of time.
They were talking about how the Dr's just didn't know what to do anymore. There is also apparently serious brain damage done from taking too much that you can't repair.
I hope you cousin is ok. It sounds like such a scary drug. There was a story about people climbing things and jumping into traffic because they truely believed they could fly.
I'm so confused. These are literally bath salts (like, "I'm going to take a warm scented bath, honey") that kids are snorting/smoking? What is wrong with people?
Yes, we have had major issues with "bath salts" and "potpourri" in our area. My DH had a lot of combative people in the back of the ambulance on those drugs. The main supplier was shut down and the calls have really slowed down. It is scary stuff.

I'm wondering that too, or is "bath salts" just a name for the dug?
I teach high school and I've never even heard of this, so it must not have hit my area YET. Our kids don't really hit the trendy stuff, though. They're usually too busy smoking weed to notice much else.
They aren't actually bath salts like you put in the tub. It is just a name for the drug.
This. They call it "bath salt", and the package even says to use it as such, but they only sell it in "tobacco" shops and you (supposedly) need to be 18 to buy it. Basically, it's legal to sell a drug if you label it as something completely different.
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
Re: Have "bath salts" hit close to home for you?

I live in the mid-atlantic area and have never heard of this.
That's crazy!
