Babies: 3 - 6 Months

nbr (kind of): post-baby cravings?

Just had to ask because its happened to me...I have been craving chocolate hard core since LO was born. Before that, I hated chocolate. I think its bizarre! I'm curious, does anyone else have cravings for things you didn't used to like??

Re: nbr (kind of): post-baby cravings?

  • I have a serious chocolate obsession/sweet tooth post baby. I think its because I breastfeed so my body wants more calcium (I dont drink milk, I take a supplement but forget most days). But Im curious, maybe it is just a post baby thing. Anyway, Godiva sends me emails and its torture!

  • Same here. Chocolate and milk. When I hit 3 weeks pp I chugged milk for about 2 weeks straight. Before that I barely ever drank milk, unless I had some cereal.
  • Same here with the sweet tooth!  I feel like a chocolate addict.  That and sandwiches.  I got totally grossed out by sandwiches when I was pregnant so I never ate them (and ate them only rarely before that) and now I can't get enough.

  • I must have Chocolate all the time now! I used to eat it every once in a while, but now I want it EVERY day! Maybe it is a breastfeeding thing? IDK...

  • Me too!

During pregnancy I had more of a savory tooth - meat, meat, meat, salt, you name it. I had no sweet tooth to speak of.

Immediately after the baby popped out I have had to have some chocolate every. single. day. Sometimes I'll just grab a small handful of chocolate chips out of the pantry. More often than not, it's a big bowl of chocolate ice cream.

I've always liked chocolate, but never before have I felt like I needed some every day.

This! I have to watch how much milk I drink now, which is bizarre for me. If I don't, I'll drink a quart in a day! Thinking about it makes me queasy, but drinking it is heavenly. So weird!

  • I could live off chocolate, soda and ice coffee since having the baby.  Not really helping with the weight loss.
  • yellow mustard.  i never liked it before, and was strictly a spicy brown user, but now i want it on everything.

  • I have been wanting mustard lately too, strange. And I always want hotdogs and onions now too.  Not necessarily together.
  • While pregnant, I had no desire for beef, pork, or chocolate.  The beef and pork made me sick, the chocolate gave me indigestion.  Now post pregnancy I crave these all the time!

Haha, I've done that. I have to watch myself as well. I went through a gallon so quickly I got queasy one day.

  • Ok so i dont feel soo bad! I thought i was going nuts after DD was born. I never ever ate ice cream or drank milk! For like the first two months all i craved was ice cream and milk! Years ago I had been diagnosed Lactose Intolerance! Now i can eat ice cream and drink milk all day long!! Crazy Hormones!
