Making it feel real

So this morning me and my boyfriend decided to take a walk to babies r us as i wasn't feeling so dizzy mainly as for us it both everything about the baby feels surreal and for us we felt we needed to take a look around and really talk about the baby,

all i have to say is how does a small freaking baby cost that much lol :O. that walk just made us super scared!

  • It can get very expensive!  Especially if you buy into the idea that you "need" certain things that are really unnecessary.  Actually, I'll start a new thread about this...

  • We saved a lot of money buy getting everything used.  A baby doesn't need a lot.  As long as you have diapers, a few outfits and a place for the baby to sleep, you're fine!  Don't get caught up in all the extras.

  • Have you checked out Craigslist? That site has a lot of used baby items at really good prices. They have bedding (just get it dry cleaned), clothing lots, used strollers, used walkers, and basically anything else you can think of. The things I wouldn't buy from CL are car seats, matresses, and breast pumps.

  • I totally agree with the other ladies. There is so much stuff out there and most of it you dont need to have a happy, healthy baby. Trust me!! Also, definetly check out craigs list, because a lot of people get rid of stuff super cheap that is almost brand new!! We still have time so watch for sales as well.

  • We have a great second-hand shop in our town that often has baby stuff, so check those out, too. Also, even if you're not going to have a baby shower, register for the things you want to get because you can get 10 percent off everything left on your registry after your baby is born (or after a certain amount of time, I can't remember).

  • Maybe check out local garage sales too! A lot of people get rid of stuff cheap that might be in decent condition still. And like PP said, not everything is a necessity so try to focus on the things you really do need for now! ((((hugs)))) and GL!

  • That is hopefully why you have a nice big shower for your first baby :)
