I delivered at pres downtown. It was surprisingly disappointing. I really liked my OB and the midwife who delivered me but I had to call L&D a few times with questions/concerns and the on call doc was always less than helpful (to the point where they tried to convince me that my water didn't break and that I had just peed on myself) and really only one out of the three nurses who I dealt with during delivery was at all helpful. I've heard good things about UNMH though.
I delivered both times at Pres Downtown and had great experiences. I never called the L&D unit, just the On call Dr's from my OB's practice when I had questions.
I've heard good things about UNMH, one of my friends delivered there. It is a teaching hospital, so she mentioned having students in the room, but I think you can deny that if you are uncomfortable.

I delivered at Pres downtown too, and had a midwife through Women's Specialist of NM (or something like that). The staff at Pres were all very friendly and helpful, but I've heard bad things too. My biggest gripe is that when I got stuck in labor, the midwife, nurses, and oncall OB didn't have any other options other than the tub, and changing positions...then I was off for a csection.
I've since switched to a lay midwife and plan to have a birth center VBAC.
I delivered at home with UNMH as a back-up! My homebirth was the most amazing experience ever! Rio Grande Midwifery was wonderful and I would highly recommend them if are at interested in a homebirth.

Good Luck!
