Definitely check out the latest baby bargains book (you can check it out from the library) because they will have great reviews on the safety, quality, and durability of furniture. Then check out the Amazon Mom. You can sign up for free and when you do you get free prime shipping and IMO they have a great selection and definitely have the lowest prices. If you want to actually see the furniture I would suggest just going to Babies R Us to look at the furniture and then look to see if Amazon carries the same brand/style.
We were not happy with the gliders at Babies R Us. There is a place on Menaul that is pricey but has nice stuff. We are also going to head to Santa Fe for Leishman's 's and Sleepy Time Furniture. New Mexico is not very good with baby furniture stores we feel sadly.
We bought our nursery furniture from Baby Furniture on Menaul. Definitely not the cheapest, but after 1.5 years of use we are still really happy with the quality.

The owners of Sleepy Time in Santa Fe were super helpful. Also, price shop if you are looking to get Best chairs. Many people can order them if you look at their website. Just do not carry many in stock to sit on.
We are going order our glider from a regular furniture store. Cheaper than the so called baby stores. Crib we found at BRU. They finally got some better stuff in for cribs.
We are learning from talking to friends, you get what you pay for. There is a bigg difference in how a $200 crib vs. $400 crib holds up. Same with gliders.
