Shark Tank Rerun

Ok, so you ladies are going to think I'm obsessed with TV or something now, but I had to comment...

I'm watching an old episode of that show "shark tank" where people come to millionaires with investment opportunities and businesses (and products) they've come up with.

This woman is presenting a gown that she "invented" that a woman can wear before, during, and AFTER labor. Ummm... I don't know about you ladies, but there was a good amount of blood involved in my birth experience. I was under the impression that blood left stains.

Also, she made it sound like she was emotionally scarred by the experience of having to wear a hospital gown. Really? If it bothers you that much, just wear an old big T shirt or get yourself a cheap stretchy gown.

The kicker? She's trying to sell them for $120. Really? For something you're going to wear once for maybe 12 hours before covering it in your bodily fluids?

Blaah. Rant over.

  • I saw that one a while back too. Such a rip off! I'm with you on the blood deal, I'm pretty sure I brought my crappy robe to wear in hospital afterwards and a cheap tank from wal-mart just to avoid dealing with more than I had to. And the hospital gown bit, I only had it on before delivery, and off During delivery (too hot) and then I was in my own clothes afterwards for the 2 days.

I think she was just trying to capitalize on the fact that babies/pets/weddings are the biggest money makers for entrepeneurs. I def won't be buying one for my next pregnancy.

  • I think I ended up naked during delivery. I am glad none of the clean up was my problem. I happily wore the gown for the next day, even though I had brought clothes. I was bleeding like crazy, and I think I went through 3 gowns. I definitely did not want a fancy thing to bleed on.
