  • I'd say M would have been good at 5 or 6 with UP, but not before that. She loves it now, though she cries through most of it.

edit - Dee - I'd wait 9-12 months then watch it. Pregnant hormones + UP do not mix.

    Same here.

However, it is one of my favorite Pixar movies.

  • I want to see it too but I've also heard people talk about how sad it is and I don't think I can handle it.

  • Charlotte liked it, but it's been a while since she saw it and she is tending to get scared more often now.  Parts of that movie are very dark, but so is TS3 and it's one of her favorite movies.  The beginning of Up is so sad/sweet.

  • The first 20 minutes if Up made me bawl like a baby, which was slightly embarrassing since we were in the theatre.

  • Up is a bad bad movie to watch the weekend after your grandmother's funeral. Yea, we didn't know what was going to happen.

  • I watched it while pregnant with Lila and cried through the whole thing. I refuse to watch it again.

  • I've never seen it. DD saw it in the theater. She liked it but didn't love it. Why is it so sad?

  • Up is such a beautiful movie. I loved it, but I have yet to watch it and not sob in the beginning.

  • Danlexi, it shows how he met his wife, then it shows how they found out they couldn't have kids, then she passes away. Like I said I bawled like a baby.

  • I was really enjoying it, but DD was in tears for the 2nd time so I shut it off. The beginning totally breaks my heart :(

  • The thunderstorm scene, the dogs, the fire. . . it was weird b/c she's never reacted that way before to a movie.

  • It is one of my favorite movies, but yeah not a kid's movie.  When I saw it in the theater I was crying and couldn't stop.  I saw it with DH and his parents and I don't think any of them cried.  And there I was bawling like a lunatic.

I was post one of the losses and went to see this movie "for fun." I love Pixar films generally speaking.

I had to leave the theater at a dead run. My mom found me curled up in the front seat of the car sobbing.

It was not a good day.

  • Even thinking about the beginning part of that movie, makes me tear up.

I have only seen it twice,  and that was all I need to see it.

oh and yeah it is kind of scary for kids.
