Charlotte liked it, but it's been a while since she saw it and she is tending to get scared more often now. Parts of that movie are very dark, but so is TS3 and it's one of her favorite movies. The beginning of Up is so sad/sweet.
Up is a bad bad movie to watch the weekend after your grandmother's funeral. Yea, we didn't know what was going to happen.

Danlexi, it shows how he met his wife, then it shows how they found out they couldn't have kids, then she passes away. Like I said I bawled like a baby.

It is one of my favorite movies, but yeah not a kid's movie. When I saw it in the theater I was crying and couldn't stop. I saw it with DH and his parents and I don't think any of them cried. And there I was bawling like a lunatic.

I was post one of the losses and went to see this movie "for fun." I love Pixar films generally speaking.
I had to leave the theater at a dead run. My mom found me curled up in the front seat of the car sobbing.
Re: Up is not a children's movie
I want to see it but I keep hearing people talk about how sad it is.

I'd say M would have been good at 5 or 6 with UP, but not before that. She loves it now, though she cries through most of it.
edit - Dee - I'd wait 9-12 months then watch it. Pregnant hormones + UP do not mix.
The begining had me in tears
DD was super scared and DS wasn't fazed.
Same here.
However, it is one of my favorite Pixar movies.
The first 20 minutes if Up made me bawl like a baby, which was slightly embarrassing since we were in the theatre.

It was not a good day.
Even thinking about the beginning part of that movie, makes me tear up.
I have only seen it twice, and that was all I need to see it.
oh and yeah it is kind of scary for kids.
