Pregnant after IF

im going to regret this...

But I wish I could just have some pregnancy symptoms. You know, sore boobs, morning sickness, something to reassure me that I really am pregnant until my ultrasound in 3 weeks. The logical side of me knows that its really too early for those symptoms, but the crazy IF part of me wants.SOMETHING to remind me that "hey , you're really pregnant!" Did anybody else feel like this before their first ultrasound? It's almost like I'm still not convinced I'm pregnant.

  • My boobs are huge, I vomited my egg sandwich this am, my pants are tight but I still have a very hard time believing I'm pregnant! It just doesn't feel real. Hopefully at your ultrasound you'll get some reassurance!

  • I know exactly what your feeling, but I'm going to tell you what everyone told me, ENJOY it while you can :)  Your u/s will be here before you know it!
  • I understand what you mean! My symptoms have varied in intensity from day to day and once I hit 12 weeks, the symptoms have been subdued.  I think some ladies have zero symptoms and some are at the other end of the spectrum.   I hope you have a great 1st u/s.  I didn't look to see how far along you are.  I think my symptoms intensified around 8 weeks or so.

I don't have many symptoms at all now.  I feel like I'm in an in-between stage.  1st tri symptoms have gone away but it's too soon to know the gender or feel the baby move.  And I really don't have a bump yet.  And I had an u/s last week at 12 weeks and baby looked good.  I don't have another u/s until 16 weeks.  I feel like I have zero reassurance right now that baby is ok in there.

    Good luck!

  • Mine vary from day to day.  A lot of women talk about the exhaustion being so bad they can't function.  Mine hits about 3:00 every day but it's manageable.  Don't get me wrong, I'd nap if I could.  The boob pain fluctuates.  I haven't really had any morning sickness except yesterday when I was convinced I was going to hurl on the way to the RE's office.

    Most days I forget I'm pregnant. :)

Kali, all that sounds a lot like me. The 3:00PM curse.

And no, I never wished for more symptoms. I actually crossed my fingers hoping I would remain the same. I had enough of a reminder with PIO shots. I didn't get them for the pleasure.

  • i didn't have any PG symptoms before my first u/s. almost immediately after my u/s, i started to feel queasy, and the next day BOOM! vomiting, nausea, headache - you name it, i felt it. for weeks. still deal with some of it. ugh.

though i hope you don't have to deal with those things, it's still pretty early.

i hope you continue feeling well! count yourself lucky ;)

  • This feeling will pass in a few weeks Smile, but I know what you mean.  Even now that my boobs don't hurt, I am less tired and have no nausea, I look forward to those appointments just to hear the hb.

ditto this! i throw up just about everything I eat and don't fit in any of my pre-pg clothes but I still wonder is there really a baby in there.  For your sake I hope the worst of the symptoms stay away. I would not wish the m/s I have been having on anyone.

  • I originally felt the same way. BUT... The morning of our 2nd U/S with our RE at 6w4d, our doctor asked how I was feeling and my naive reply was "I don't feel anything other than hungry." The very next day, my m/s (which happens more often in the middle of the night) arrived with a vengeance! 11 weeks later and I'm still puking everyday, sometimes twice a day. But I'd take m/s any day for what it ultimately means!

It never really sunk in/felt real until after our a/s and now that I can feel him kick :) Good luck at your u/s and don't worry, 3 weeks feels like a long time but it will fly by!!

  • I can't tell how far along you are, but I didn't feel any real symptoms until I was about 7-8 weeks along.  Until then, I felt completely normal.  I still didn't have the full on morning sickness that a lot of girls get... I was very tired, my boobs hurt and I just didn't have any appetite.  I know what you mean, sometimes it felt like I wasn't pregnant.  Don't worry, you'll feel it soon enough :)

  • When I found out I was pregnant (through an unexpected phone call from the RE), the very first thing I did was drink a tall glass of water so I could POAS and see that + as soon as possible for myself.  When I didn't have any symptoms even a couple of weeks later -- and I mean ZERO symptoms except a little pre-AF-like cramping -- it was all I could do to keep from POAS again, just to confirm it, before the ultrasound.  At 8 weeks now, I still have very few symptoms except a little increased hunger some days, and bloating in the evenings.

I think what you're feeling is totally normal -- I felt that way constantly before the first ultrasound and still do on occasion.  I just keep reminding myself to consider myself lucky to have so few symptoms-- and maybe when the baby bump shows up, I'll feel less worry about it (hopefully!).

  • My only symptoms were cramping and spotting, not the symptoms you want! I was holding my breath until 6w4d when we had our first u/s. So I get it. Even after the u/s, I worried, because I never felt really tired and had only a few waves of nausea the whole first trimester.

  • How far along are you?  It might just be too early for many symptoms, but hopefully you won't be hit hard.

I think it REALLY hit me that I AM pregnant after my NT Scan @ 12 weeks where our LO looked like an actual baby.  I have only had very mild symptoms but am very thankful for that.

  • I understand how you feel.  I'm 5w4days today and the only symptom I have is that I am more tired.  Now, if I feel this way through the entire pregnancy--GREAT.  But, I've had many losses and can't help but worry that the lack of symptoms means bad things!

But, if I have a successful first u/s later this week, I'm hoping I will relax and enjoy these symptom free days!

  • There are days where I look at my u/s photos and still wonder if it's real. Like somehow they made up the ultrasound where I was looking at my baby while they did it. I have had m/s and I still feel that way. I think it's a byproduct of IF and finally being on this side.. it's sort of unbelievable.
