Sorry if this is TMI, but there is a silver lining...
I finally had my first doctors appointment today for this pregnancy. If I had normal, 28-day cycles, I would be at 9 weeks today. Yay! Except I have weird, irregular cycles that are long, so I'm only at 8 weeks 3 days. Boo. I know it's only 5 days, and in the long run it makes no difference, but that's five more days in first tri, which sucks, as many of you know. Also, that's five more days that I can't go public, and it's really, really hard. Stupid long cycles.
The good news is that everything looks great! It's developing well, and we could hear the heartbeat really well. It was so exciting to see it in there; it makes it so much more real. I can't believe I have to wait another four weeks for my next appointment!
Re: Stupid irregular cycles
Been there! I did IUI so I know the date H was conceived, but *every* appt I had to fight about my EDD because they would count from my last period which was 6 weeks prior, not 4. Long cycles suck, but the good news is everything is going well! Hope the five extra days go quickly.
Congrats!
My stupid irregular cycles are preventing me from *getting* pregnant... so, I'd rather have your problem!
If you chart your cycles then you can ID the part that's a litte off: either the pre-ovulation phase or the post-ovulation phase. Depending on which one's longer, there are nutritional adjustments you can make - Cycles, Fertility, & Nutrition is really great for this and helped me a lot!
In the meantime, congratulations on the pregnancy!
