I'm in that phase of parenting

Where I have B-I-N-G-O, Pop Goes the Weasel, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and whatever other songs play on C's V-Tech Learning Laptop and the Laugh & Learn Puppy stuck in my head on a constant loop.  I'm not normally a singer/whistler/hummer, so I know it's bad when I start belting out the ABC's while doing the dishes.

  • LOL... I feel ya.

Don't ever turn on Backyardigans or WonderPets.

The Dora guitar my bro bought for J last week was the worst.... "Dance, dance, dance you've got ants in your pants!  Wiggle all around, you've got ants in your pants!  Baaaaiiiilar, bailar, baaaiiiilar!"  Ugh.  Awful!

P.S. - did you get the fenugreek?  i left it for you yesterday.  last night at pick-up, y was gushing about c, telling me how cute he is and what a "little man" he is...  she just adores him...

  • Oh those repetitive toy songs drive me nuts.  I am currently in the "Every letter makes a sound the (letter) say (letter sound)" phase.  We have both the magnet version that sings this and the DVD and Maggie has the video on her Leapster Explorer. Truthfully it has really helped her begin recognizing most of her letters but the song drives me batty.
  • It's inevitable.  And even funnier (sadder?) when you or your DH starts one and the other chimes in to harmonize  Stick out tongue

DD had a rear-view car mirror that flashed lights and played music, and it saved us on many a car ride.  I was so bummed when it burned out just after her first birthday and I couldn't find a replacement for DS.  But even now, 3+ years after it played its last tune, DH and I can still, note for note, whistle and hum its music.  It did a sort of jazzy arrangement of traditional kid songs and was just the right blend of catchy and annoying.  Oh no...typing about it is making them creep back into my head...

Thank God DD loved the Jason Mraz as an infant.  :)  One time, on a drive back to MI with my sister, we listened to "I'm yours" about 200 times.  My sister said she never wants to hear that song ever again!  haha.

  • OMG, Wonder Pets was stuck in my head for a long time.  Now it's the theme to Special Agent Oso, thanks to early rising on vacation.  Kids songs are way too catchy and easy to sing :/

  • I've been singing, "I want to eat, eat eat apples and bananas" all day.  DD wanted me to sing it ot her this morning about a dozen times so it is firmly entrenched.
  • Also DH knows the exact order of rainbow colors thanks to MMCH - red, orange yellow green blue don't forget there's purple too.  At Molly's rainbow rainbow we both would pick up on singing this one.

Yes, THANK YOU!!  BTW, J is a great little artist!  I was checking out her coloring skills and she was all coordinated with her colors and inside the lines.

OMG, she LOVES to paint, color, and draw.  Now, she's even starting to draw "things."  Yesterday, she showed me a pic of a crude stick figure - with a (somewhat distinguishable) face and hair and everything... she even drew "shoes"... and said "look, mommy!  it's YOU!..."  hahaha.

Just saw WonderPets the other day.  It's the first time Bambino has watched kiddo tv.  He normally watches travel channel with me.  That show was...interesting.
