Strollers- oh my!

Right now we have a snap n go that we use with LO's carseat. But its time for a new lightweight stroller- we tried out my sisters stroller and he LOVED facing forward and seeing what was going on. There are way too many options. Can anyone recommend a good, lightweight stroller? We are leaning towards a Maclaren Triumph, but I am open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Strollers- oh my!

  • We have a Quinny Buzz for walks around town / on terrain but we LOVE our Maclaren Triumph for travel and trips into London.

  • Love our City Mini. I can open and close it with one hand, it fully reclines AND the sunshade is huge!

  • I've never known anyone to dislike their Maclaren Triumph.  Pretty much ditto a BJ City Mini.  I think it really depends on what your primary usage will be - mall walks vs city walks.

I am trying to decide between these two. We like to walk in a local park which has a  dirt/gravel main trail so I think hopefully the city mini will do the job. I don't need or want to spend big $$$ on a jogging stroller.

  • I have a BJ City Mini & like it a lot - but here are my notes that you may consider...

*It does not handle well at all off pavement. I have actually had it tip over (thank god my husband was next to it and caught everything) when pushing my daughter through the grass when a clump of grass stopped the front wheels. & even going off our driveway into the street the little 2 inch drop down, I have to steady it or it feels like its going to tip over.

*The storage on the bottom is impossible to access unless it's like a small baby blanket or cup or something. You litterally have to unsnap it for a purse or bag to go in & out.

*The accessories like the parent console are very expensive for what they are, and come of the cheaper strollers come with the exact same thing already.

*And finally - the straps are a little difficult to adjust IMP.

I like the stroller, but after using it for a few months I may have looked at others a little more first.

I LOVE our Chicco Liteway. We went from our snap and go to this stroller when DS1 was 5 months old. I chose it over the Maclaren b/c of the accessibility of the basket. The Chicco fully reclines so you can use it with young babies. I can hold baby in one arm and fold it and put it in the trunk with one hand (there is a carrying handle). The handles are also long enough that I don't kick the back of the stroller.and there is a parent cupholder. It runs about $130 I think. hope that helps!

Ditto this. We love ours too. It is a little short for my DH (who is 6'4") but not to the point that he refuses to use it. I love that we can recline LO or sit him upso quickly and easily.

  • LOVE my city mini! IDK about pp, but it handles well in grass, gravel, and even cobblestone streets. It folds easily and small, so it doesn't take up the whole trunk like other strollers (I have a tiny car).

My only complaint is the basket is pretty much useless. I have a skip hop bag with stroller clips, so I can hang the diaper bag, and I got stroller hooks for bags while shopping. It sucks that I had to buy the belly bar and rain cover separately, but the stroller is so awesome, I don't really mind.
