Anyone else feeling "pressure"?

Hi mamas to be,

Im not that far along and have actually lost 4 lbs in a week and a half but i feel so much pressure in my stomach and my pants are not comfy at all (some jeans wont even button). I have a "pulling" feeling on the top of my tummy...its not painful but very uncomftorable. Wondering if anyone else is feeling this and if anyone has tips to relieve it Ive been having my DH rub my tummy but I feel like its early for that!? Thanks Ladies!

Re: Anyone else feeling "pressure"?

  • I feel pressure every now and then, but nothing enough to make me feel uncomfortable.  It could be bloating and gas.  I hope you are able to feel more comfy soon!

  • Early in my pregnancy, I'd say the first 5 weeks or so, I had a pretty persistent pressure. My pants were very uncomfortable and i was always just aware of my abdomen. I'm pretty sure it's a normal part of the process. GL
  • I had a lot of pressure for a couple of weeks.  When I asked my OB about it, he said (jokingly of course) "Pressure like you are growing a human being inside of your abdominal cavity"?  lol of course that made me laugh and get what he was saying.  What he then explained to me is that in the beginning you have a lot of bloating and gas, but along with it your uterus is growing pretty rapidly so all of the ligaments, tendons, muscles, etc are all getting pushed and pulled and moved around too which causes even more pressure on top of the bloat and gas.  Long story short, what you are feeling is totally normal!  For me, getting up and walking around or going for a swim usually makes the pressure subside.
