I'm been MIA the last week and half because I've been recovering, and obviously taking care of LO - Charles was born on 8/12 weighing 9 lbs, 20 inches via c-section. I was 41 weeks, 1 day pregnant.
This is the timeline of how things happened:
Tuesday - 2 rounds of cytotec - no change to cervix, still only 1 cm dilated, if that
Wednesday - 2 rounds of cytotec - no change to cervix, still only 1 cm dilated
Wednesday night - started cervidil
Thursday - no change to cervix from cervidil. Started Pitocin for 9 hours! Barely contracted at all! No change to cervix.
After many, many tears and talking over my options with a couple of doctors (thanks to shift changes), I decided that a c-section was best for me. I had a LEEP procedure done about 8 years ago that may have resulted in scar tissues and my cervix wasn't going to dilate. They told me I could use a foley balloon to try to manually open it, keep trying cervical ripening or go home. There was no way I was going home and I was done using the drugs. It had been three days!
Friday - C-section! I basically jumped on the operating table! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The spinal wasn't bad - a little weird but not painful.
Recovery was slow the first couple of days. It was hard to breastfed with the pain and incision, so breastfeeding is going pretty slow for me. He is a little jaundice still so I am breastfeeding and pumping to supplement. It's been a frustrating process for me, but I'm hanging in there.
LO is absolutely amazing and we are so in love !! I would post a pic but I really don't know how to do that...haha.

I'm sorry induction didn't go well for you, you're one tough lady to deal with all of that! Congrats on DS though and glad everything ended well
