We've been lucky that M doesn't get diaper rashes very often, so we've been using the same tube of Desitin for the past year. But now we need a new tube, so I'm wondering what brand people think works best. We use disposable diapers.
H doesn't get rashes often, but when she does, I switch back to disposables and use Butt Paste. It's *always* gone in one or two diaper changes. Maybe a day for the worst of it, but never longer than that. I seriously think that stuff is magic.
We use California Baby, but I will say that (knock on wood) he hasn't had any serious problems with diaper rash so I haven't tried it with anything really bad. Desitin seemed to irritate his bottom more than help, though, and the California Baby seems to have worked for us.

We bought CB recently because it's relatively cd-friendly and I love it! Works better than the Aveeno we were using and actually smells nice.
T also doesn't get diaper rashes much, so we have only tried Butt Paste and I like it (particulary the smell - it's a little spicy). I've heard good things about Triple Paste, but always in the context of really bad diaper rashes - since T isn't really having that problem, we never tried it.
I like Butt Paste too but only use it when there is a rash; otherwise, I put Aquaphor on DS' butt (right in the anus) at every single diaper change. He mostly poops on the potty but it makes cleaning him up so much easier, the poop just wipes tight off!
I make my own and it works better than any one product you can buy - i promise! We've tried them all. Just mix equal parts Lotramin, A&D ointment, and Neosporin. Works like a miracle. One of my nurse friends passed this along - so I'm not just concocting crazy butt creams on my own, lol. I just keep it in one of those tiny snack-size tupperware containers. Give it a whirl.

I've used this on DD for a couple of really nasty rashes.
