Has anyone started thinking about getting their LO's ready for cooler weather?
I have this tendency to think that he has TONS of stuff left over from the previous season so there's no point in shopping, then I find that most of his old stuff doesn't fit him anymore.
I know, I'm not so smart :P
Anyhoo, I then go on a shopping binge and feel guilty about that. Terrible vicious circle.
So what's up with the shopping? Done any yet?
Re: Shopping for Fall/Winter
And yes, I edited the title as it is indeed "shopping" and not "shooping."
All though what was that Salt n' Pepa song? Wasn't that about shooping?

Sadly, I have nothing else to add. This is my first time shopping for seasonal clothes for my LO. My mom did tell me if I'd buy less, I'd have more room in her dresser, lol.
I'm hoping that the few pairs of long pants I bought her this past spring will still fit. They should, since they were a tad long then. Other than that, no shopping.
Re: shopping binge - do you check out places like Goodwill or Salvation Army, yard sales, freecycle, craiglist, etc?
A friend would find craigslist deals like an entire large plastic trash bag full of clothes for $20. Usually the clothing in the bag was all about the same size, and even if a few were stained or unusable, it was an awesome bargain.
Goodwill had kids' clothes priced at $1 per top and $2 per bottom, so I bought several items with no guilt whatsoever. I did have to spend a bit of time looking through the racks, but it was worth it for the price! Plus I don't get so upset if cheap things get stained or torn.
Or since you are thinking about it now, go through his stuff and see what still fits and what you think M will need. You can watch for sales and buy one or two items each week. If you spread the shopping out, it doesn't count as a binge!

I caught the end of season sales for clothes last year. LO already has new Christmas jammies and a bunch of other winter clothes that I bought at really low prices.
The older one is another story. He's growing so quickly. I had him try on all of his pants and only 3 fit.
Blah, I hate shopping! But you raise a good point.
(obviously I haven't do any yet
I did that in February and bought summer clothes for Adrian, but I overestimated his growth and most of the clothes I bought are still too big. He's been wearing them and they won't fit next summer, so I'm not buying ahead anymore. I just don't know how fast or slow he'll grow in the upcoming year. Best to just buy as I go
We're fortunate to have some hand-me-downs from his cousin, but I'm planning on going to a Tot Swap in the Fall. Also looking through 80% off clearance at Kohl's right now and today I got a long sleeve shirt for $1 at Walmart. Clothing I'd even look for deals on Ebay
Shoes are another things. I got him sized at Stride Rite and they recommended a 5.5W. She said at this age, their feet can grow every few months. So why would i spend $40 on one pair of shoes that may not even last until Christmas? I'm looking for W shoes on sale and may try 6W. I know it depends on the shoe. Stride Rite does have some tennies on sale for $20. I was hoping to get him new sandals but he'll only wear them for another month or so.
