NCDR: What are you/did you get for LO's first birthday?

What are you getting or did you get for LO's first birthday? Dh and I were going to get a large Brio type train set but I think it's more of a 2 year birthday present (or 18 months or something) so we're trying to figure out what we should do.

Honestly, we didn't get him anything because A) he has eleventy billion toys already and

he got a crap ton of toys at his (too big) party, and C) he wouldn't know if he got something from us or another person anyway.

We aren't getting anything exciting. Some longies for winter a few diapers and some books are what we are getting. That's all he needs really and since no one in our family will buy CD related items, why not. Leave the clothing and toys to them

we got my son a small slide that has steps up to it, it was great for him to work on his gross motor skills. we kept it inside that first winter, he is a December baby. That Christmas he got a FP Laugh and Learn home which he enjoyed at that age too. Both things were from Craigs list.

She'll get money in her bank account. She'll get toys etc from everyone else. She'll get access to her account ehen she is 18 (when you learn to drive here)
