Two Under 2

Question...

Hi ladies. I've been lurking on this board since before DS was born and I'm hoping to join you at some point. So my question is for the mommas who had c/s. My doctor told me at my 6wk appt that we should wait a year to get pregnant. This didn't make myself or DH very happy since we were planning to get pregnant again soon. So was anyone else told this or is my dr just saying this??

Re: Question...

  • I am a lurker on this board as well but I can answer your question. I saw my doctor about 6 months after my son was born via c-section for my annual visit and we got to talking and he told me that really any time I wanted to was fine because there were no complications during my delivery and everything healed well. Maybe if you are worried about what your doctor said, you could call and make an appointment to check on everything, make sure everything healed as it should, and get the okay.

  • I was never told anything after my first pregnancy and I came out with 2u1.

After DSs delivery (a repeat c-section) I was told I needed to wait a year to let my uterus recover. Also the scar tissue needs to heal inside because the placenta can attach to the the scar and some women have had to have hysterectomies from  it.

  • My doc didn't say either way. I also didn't ask.

We started trying for #2 when #1 was 4 months, and we got pregnant when #1 was 6 months.

We started trying for #3 when #2 was 2 months, and we got pregnant when #2 was 7 months.
