Update to: Dr's stress leave

Hi all, I just wanted to let you know how my Dr's appointment went yesterday. Last week I posted that she wanted me to take meds (Ativan) before approving a stress leave for me. This, after I told her medication was not an option for me and I wasn't comfortable taking it.

After taking many of your advice, I had my follow up appointment with her yesterday and I told her that I didn't take the meds because I'm not comfortable with it while I'm pregnant. We discussed what's been going on at work and nothing has changed in a week (I didn't expect it to). So she approved Stress leave for me! She told me I looked awful (thanks a lot) and she thinks it would be really beneficial for me!

I was so happy when I left, I cried. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

  • I believe it's until delivery, then my mat leave starts after that (which in Canada is a year)
  • I'm so glad you don't have to worry about this anymore. I'm also glad you were able to speak honestly and frankly with your doc. You have to be your own advocate! :)
