Micheal's has these little wind up toys in their dollar spot. they walk when you wind them up. I had bought Jack one a while back and brought that with us, he got a lot of amusement out of watching the penguin waddle across the tray. I will warn when he picked it up it wasn't quiet but with toddlers nothing is quiet
We also brought books, cars, crayons, and little people/animals.
What airline are you flying on? Jet Blue has direct TV so we were able to put cartoons on to distract him. He wouldn't leave the headphones on though so it didn't last long.
Forever in our hearts

After 4yrs, 5 IUI's, 2 IVF's, 2 FET's, PGD, and 5 losses our little miracle is finally here!
But other than that, books. We got this as a birthday gift and I may bring it when we fly next week, because it's stuffed, and the only noise it makes is the crinkly items in the trunk (and the squeeky wheels, which Will could care less about).
We usually fly jetblue mostly.. So tv is a great distraction! I also second the food.. I use it all day long..terrible but he loves to eat. I am also that mom who let's her Kid crawl/run around the terminal to get all the energy out before we get on the plane and then I give benadryl..and he usually sleeps.. Judge away! We also have only flown for 3hrs max.. Boston to ft lauderdale..
Be sure to bring some things you know your kids already like. Even if they make noice, over the roar of the engine, you will not be able to hear them. I also bought coloring books, stickers and a few cars.
Snacks are what kept him the most occupied over all his toys.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.
