Oh my goodness - the time has come, I THINK. I've been having contractions since yesterday afternoon. They've been about 5-7 minutes apart the past couple hours. I was 1 cm dilated this morning at my appointment. I am still confused because although they're starting to get more intense (I have a really high tolerance of pain) they are not perfectly consistent. Some are 4 minutes apart, some are 8 minutes apart. The last in duration of mostly 30 sec to 70 seconds. What gives? Do you think it's the real deal or just a false cry of faking me out?
Re: Early stages of labor anyone?
Sounds like early labor to me! I'd wait to call the ob until you can't talk though them or need to stop everything just to breath and concetrait.
I was having tons of contractions, 4 mins apart, lasting 2-3 mins, but they wern't painful, so they sent me home. (trip to L&D for nothing)
They said if it were early labor any where from 23-48 you'll be in REAL labor. but... all the contractions stopped when I got home, so I guess it was a false alarm.
You can always call just to ease your mind, and they might have to come in just to get a baseline, and see what's going on.
Good luck and hoping this is the real deal for you!
Yes I am in labor - still early only 2 cm, so I'm home, but dang these contractions are relentless right now.
I am heading back into the hospital at 2:30pm (I saw my doc at 9:45 and he figured that would be enough time for me to progress where they'll admit me). Since I've been pretty uncomfortable I think he'll keep me regardless.
Hooray for you! Tough road ahead but you're there and soon it will be over and you will meet your LO. Can't wait for a birth story update and pics! GL!
