Baby will be here soon???

Hey Ladies! Had my 36 week appointment yesterday and my Doctor told me I was 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced! This is my first baby and I was so excited. However she told me that it didn't mean he was coming any sooner :P What are your thoughts? I am planning to go natural and really want to be ready!!! Any advice?

    It's just a toss up.  I have known people who sat on one or two centimeters for three to four weeks, but then I have heard a few stories about how they could be 1cm one day and a couple days later giving birth.  You just never know really.  But given you are 36 weeks the baby should be here at least in 5 weeks if you were to go late (I don't think many doctors will let you go past 41 weeks, I know mine doesn't.)  I made it 40 weeks a day before I had my DD, but I never progressed, and she ended up being a c-section.  Good luck!  :)

    Agree with PP, you could be that way for awhile. However, it is still very exciting!

    I walked around at 1cm and 75% for three weeks :) so it may be a while, but it's great knowing your body is getting ready!

    I just delivered naturally on 8/13, and I TOTALLY believe that you can do it!
