I actually found someone that does sugaring instead of being waxed, highly recommend it. While I haven't delivered yet, it is just starting to grow back in 2 weeks later and it is actually soft and not itchy at all. You may want to try it if it's a possibility.
Depending on when you get waxed, the regrowth may not start until after your fairly healed. It generally starts between 2-3 and is pretty well back by 4 wks. But the hair doesn't grow back in as a full grown hair lol, it's very fine at first and it's actually a lot thinner that it normally would, it takes some of the hairs much longer to come back in. I've never really noticed any itching either, I would think shaving would be 10x worse as far as regrowth and itching...
I didn't wax, but I have in the past. I think re-growth from waxing is much better than from shaving.
With that said, I was taken off guard (DS came a little early), so I didn't shave or wax. The hair was a little annoying and gross with all the bleeding from recovery, so I wish I would have done something.
I waxed a week and a half before I delivered. Usually, it's not so painful, but that was THE WORST WAX EVER!!! Regrowth isn't so bad, but it hasn't been for me the entire pregnancy. I'd do it just so it's one less thing to worry about.
I get sugared but she has to use wax sometimes on the hard to remove spots...anyway, my advice is to go through the pain now and just do it. You will feel so much better during labor and after.
