I'm not trying to start anything, just curious how the roles play out for you. My mom was always the one to take us shopping for clothes, buy Christmas gifts/birthday gifts, etc. When they got divorced my dad had a hard time learning to buy gifts and still delivers them in the plastic bag from the store many times..... DH is not a gift buyer or a planner either....and dont get me wrong I love to shop, but it would mean so much if he would buy something/pick something out to give his daughter.
Re: Dad's buying/picking out things for baby?
I've had to tell DH to stop buying clothes for LO. He's a HUGE SF Giants fan so we've got tons of stuff. He also is a shoe freak and bought LO some Nike booties that look like Jordans. He takes DD out sometimes and she comes home with toys and shoes and stuff. DH is pretty good about it.
My dad sucked at buying us stuff as well. So he just never did. Instead he asks us to buy ourselves what we want and what his grandkids want and then pays us back for them. It's lame.
HA! that made me laugh.
DH has probably wanted to buy more than I have. He's a huge sports nut so and I'm trying to limit the number of sports related things he's getting for baby. I think it's so cute how excited he is for his son. He was really into the registry when we went. I was kicking myself after awhile for letting him be in charge of the scan gun. I had to go behind him and delete things b/c he was scanning things when I wasn't looking!
My dad was a truck driver when I was little and always used to come back with little gifts for me. He may not always pick out the greatest things...he's got awful taste, but he tries hard!
Posting from an Android sorry for any errors
DH LOVES Think Geek. He got his diaper bag from there, the "Bag of Holding."
We also got the LED pacifier, the Zombie Snack bib and the DNA sequence onsie. LOL. I feel ya...
