Dr. wants to see me (sig warning)

in TTC After a Loss

I m/c almost a month ago. It was an early loss and the nurse that would draw my blood for betas answered most of my questions. Anyways, I got a call last week asking if I could come in and see our doctor.

Does anyone else's ob/gyn do this? I should have asked on the phone what type of appointment this will be, but it didn't occur to me when they called. This was my first loss and the only thing I can think of talking about would be TTC.

I thought about calling, but just seeing if this is the norm? Anyone?

    i'd call.  Tell them your calling because you wanted to make sure you had the right time... and then just ask, oh and what exactly is this appointment for.... something like that!

    Yup. This happened to me. It was about 6 weeks after my early loss, my hormones droped to zero and AF started. I called and was like, "Do I REALLY need to come in?" and of course, they told me yes. He wanted to do an internal exam and clear me to start TTC again. I HATED going into that office after my mc so it really sucked, but I'm glad I went.

    They normally just want to check up on you & talk about your plans, etc. But you might want to ask, if it's something you want to skip normally they won't push to see you if you don't want. I hate paying co-pays just for a feel good discussion.

    Thanks ladies. I had my appointment. It is funny, because I always seem to get more emotional when I have to go to the ob/gyn office for all the m/c related stuff.

    I didn't have to have an exam....just talked with my dr and she answered some questions. Looks like we indeed have the green light to TTC after I get af. Hopefully that is soon as right now I am at cd 26 and usually af comes cd 28-30!

    I'd call them too so you know what to expect.  It's probably just a follow up to discuss what your plan is for TTC again.  They will prob offer advice, prescribe you vitamins (if not already on them), and answer any of your questions. They might also give you a quick exam, at least they did for me after both m/c.
