Appointment Update & u/s PIP

DH and I had our first appointment with the midwives on Monday. We loved the midwife we saw, their approach towards pregnancy and delivery, and the clinic atmosphere all together.

The midwife was able to feel the top of my uterus and also found the heartbeat on the doppler which really surprised her and us. I didn't think we would be able to hear it yet because it was too early; but she found it and thought it was 160-170! Both DH and I shared a few tears when we heard it. Our midwife did agree that she did want to accurately date and get an EDD so we got to go to another clinic for an u/s too!

We went to the u/s appointment after drinking and holding 32 ounces of water (oh my gosh--hard!). We got to see the baby right away and the u/s tech stated it looked perfect. The hb was 162 then and measuring at exactly 8 weeks. We have an official EDD of March 26, 2011!

Both DH and I are so excited and a little more relaxed after seeing the baby again and hearing the hb from the doppler. We will be going in for our NT scan in 3-4 weeks and then seeing our midwife again in six weeks!
