I swear our dog knows I'm pregnant!

For the past few days, our chocolate lab who is a year and a half old has been paying her head right on my belly button and sniffing me alllll the time. she used to lay her head up by my shoulder but now it's at my tummy. She must have a sense about these things! :) 

We had the first u/s and the gestational sac is in my uterus! Good sign! :)

    My dog has been doing that too! Congrats on a good 1st ultrasound!

    I swear our oldest dog knows too...he keeps laying by me and putting his head on my stomach, whereas before he was never really a cuddler.

    that's hilarious!  i wondered that this week too...or if she doesn't know i'm pregnant she at least has some 6th sense to train me to get up in the middle of the night all of a sudden!  she typically never wakes me up in the middle of the night - then this week she did 3 nights in a row :(

    My sister was dog-sitting for our cousin shortly after I got my BFP. When I went to her place, the dog did her usual jump and bark, but immediately stopped when I pushed her down. She then spent the rest of the day hiding from me. First she went under the computer desk, but it wasn't far enough, so she moved to under the dining room table. Finally, she ended up in the furthest corner of the house under a table. She NEVER acts like this. Either she knew, or I beat her up in a previous life!

    How weird... our dog has been doing the same thing! I made the same joke to DH that she was 'preparing me' for the baby!

    Our dogs haven't done anything too crazy yet.  But I have heard that dogs do smell one of the increased hormones, but I can't remember which.

    We have a choc. lab too. She has been doing the same thing and she is so gentle around me. She is a jumper but she has not jumped on me once in the last month.  Weird. Maybe they have a sense.....

    I have heard they can tell!  Mine seems oblivious :o)  Or in denial....he is not a child fan :o(

    We have 2 black labs, they boy doesn't seem to notice but the girl has been following me around for the past 3 weeks.  She comes to my side of the bed at night and cries, she follows me into the bathroom and stays outside the door until I come out.  I told DH that I think she knows and he agrees.  Glad to see other dogs seem to have the same intuition.  Gotta love our furry kids.
