The ones that came in a box that showed the mask through a clear cellophane window? The costume part was made of some cheap material that you wore over your clothes and it tied in the back. The mask covered your whole face and there was one piece of string that went across the back that was held together by one staple. It had cut outs for eye, 2 nostril holes and a little slit for your tongue. We would get our costumes at Woolworths. They would have a bajillion of these types of costumes.

LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
I remember my sister (she is 13 years younger then me) got to get better costumes sometime in the mid 80's. I was kind of bummed she didn't get to experience her lip being cut from the plastic masks.

YES! We had a Strawberry Shortcake one and a Cookie Monster one. If I remember correctly, the body part that you wore over clothes was plastic. It was all stiff and made noise when you walked.
Someone would always put their mask on the floor and it would get stepped on before the night ended.

Absolutely! I had no idea they phased them out that long ago! I remember being Holly Hobby (how's that for dated?).
I always wanted those costumes, but most years my mom would concoct something for me to wear at the last minute. I guess that's why I never knew they were gone so long ago, haha!
Oh yes, Wonder Woman underoos! Had those. Also had R2-D2.
