I'm doing 1200 cal/day and working out 5x a week, 2 w/ my trainer. It seems to be working, I'm down a good amount in 12 weeks, have a LOT to go still (I was 30 over my ideal weight when I got pregnant). I don't count the 9 lbs lost from baby either, LOL.So my intention is to get all the baby weight off + the other 30.
It's a PITA to measure food, count the calories and such, but again, it's working. And it's not with any food program (JC, WW, NS, although some people find success with those too, I just don't).

I don't know if you're BFing, but if you are, 1200 cal/day may not be enough to sustain your supply in the long term, esp. with all of your exercise. Even if you're FFing, 1200 is still extremely low. I would be surprised that a trainer would support such a low caloric intake knowing that you're working out 5x a week. I don't mean to be nosy but just wanted to suggest that, if you find problems with your supply or find that you stop losing weight or find it difficult to maintain such a low calorie count, you might consider adding back in 200-300 calories.
1200 calories is normally considered the amount that most people (except for very small people) need in order to simply survive if they just sat in bed all day. That doesn't factor in exercise or possible BFing. Going too low on calories can actually work against you and decrease your metabolism. But if you're enjoying what you're doing and seeing success, then that's great. Just wanted to put that out there. GL!
I've seen some of the women on here form groups to start doing the 30 Day Shred together and keep each other accountable. I was thinking of joining/starting one as well, if that is something you would be interested in.
