I recently started to buy some tots bots easy fits. I have 10 of them. 9 of them have aplix that are identical to each other. the 10 th one has different aplix. one side is much thinner and actually appears to be missing a layer of velcro to it. it is extremely thin and looks nothing like the other diapers velcro. I emailed the online store I purchased it from - who then spoke/emailed bummis about it. their explanation is - "(Bummis) they said that this is not a defect but an older model of diaper however! The older model forces you to Velcro one over the other but the new model allows you to choose which side you Velcro on top!"
but since its a one size dipe. eventually won't need to criss cross the velcro on top of each other b/c baby will be too big for that?! I have the option to return it for refund, but I imagine I need to pay the shipping to send it back. which sucks.

Can you contact Bummis directly? And do you have the receipt? I would think if you're able to discuss it with them directly and provide pictures they may see it as more of a problem than an old diaper.
I would contact them and see if they are willing to replace it as long as you can show proof of purchase. And I would check out their site here and look at the product guarntee.
I have 2 that I love and don't have this problem - each purchased separately.
I don't have the diaper in my hands, but I think you might be misinterpreting the retailer's email. I think that what they're saying is that IF you needed to cross over, on the old model you have only one way to do it, and on the newer model you can do it either way.
Of course, check with Bummis. But that's how I understand the retailer's response.
